Joseph Michael Sells
1946-2026
Joseph Michael Sells, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026, in Greensboro, North Carolina, at the age of 80. Born on May 17, 1946, in Greensboro, Joseph spent his entire life in the community he cherished.
Mike dedicated over thirty years of his life to a career as a truck driver, working with Conway, Trucking, and XPO Logistics before retiring. His commitment to his work was matched only by his love for his family and his passions outside of his profession.
In his leisure time, Mike found joy in riding motorcycles, a pastime that brought him a sense of freedom and adventure. He also enjoyed tinkering in his building, where he could often be found working on various projects. Additionally, he took great pride in maintaining his yard, finding peace and satisfaction in the simple act of yard work.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Robert and Bonnie Bess Howard Sells, and his brother, Steve Sells. He is survived by his devoted wife, Frances (Sisie) Sells, who stood by his side throughout their many years together. He leaves behind three loving daughters: Andrea Sells (Jason), Sharon Henegar (Don), and Brandi Clark (Brandon). Mike was also a proud grandfather to Shelby Tolbert, Alex Cook, Dylan Barley, Brinley Clark, and eagerly anticipated the arrival of another grandchild.
A celebration of life will be held at five o'clock in the evening on the 25th of Setptember, 2026 at Northside Baptist Church. Pastor Mike Goode will officiate. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
Joseph Michael Sells will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
